The lingering heat wave above 35 degree Celsius over the past week in Shenzhen in China drove more and more people to go to hospitals, shopping centers, beaches, or other cool places.
A doctor surnamed Quyang said that visitors number at their hospital increased about 20 percent, mostly are seniors and kids. One mother lives in the Futian districts expressed that in order to avoid heat and keeping her son from watching TV, she brought him to shop with her. A worker in a department store said that there were many more people in their store from 1st, August to 3rd, August.
Sales of electric fans and air conditioners shot up as the heat increases. A sales girl from Gome china said: "We sold over 50 air conditioners in 2nd, August, 30 unit more than weekdays.
