MP4 players
An MP4 music player, which is a container format, always has bigger screen than MP3. The MP4 player is defined in the MPEG-4 standard (ISO 14496-14). It supports almost any kind of multimedia content, even the high-end content, for example, 2D and 3D animated graphics. Its supporting formats include MPEG 4, RM/RMVB vedio, AVI（DivX, XviD）, MTV and ASF/WMV A. So besides a digital audio player, it is a video player. We could view text files, videos and images without any trouble with these advanced digital gadgets. Pay attention: Quite a few so-called MP4 players in China market don’t support videos in the MP4 format. Be extra careful when you plan to buy your MP4 from China.
MP3 players
AsWikipedia defines, an MP3 player is a consumer electronics device that has the primary function of storing, organizing and playing audio files. The MP3 player is officially known as MPEG-1, Layer 3. Its screen is usually smaller than MP4. Its supporting formats include WMA, WAV, MIDI, AAC, ADPCM, etc., - very different from MP4. At present, there are four major types, that is, flash-based players, hard drive-based players, MP3 CD players and networked audio players.
Obviously, MP3 players are less advanced than MP4. Comparing an MP3 with an MP4 which has the same storage space, the MP4 always could store more songs. That’s because MP4 can compress the stored files to be more smaller and keep the original quality. But no matter what you choose, choose what you need and follow your heart.
